Founded by graduates of the University of Malaya’s School of Architecture, Kerinthing Design Unit began as a shared vision between three passionate designers. What started as conversations over coffee soon evolved into a commitment to build an independent architectural practice rooted in creativity, integrity, and hands-on experience.

In our early days, we immersed ourselves in small-scale architectural projects to better understand the realities of the profession. Without prior exposure to the conventional corporate architecture environment, we chose to learn by doing, engaging directly with clients, sites, materials, and construction processes. This practical foundation shaped not only our technical capabilities but also our philosophy: architecture must be experienced, tested, and refined through real-world application.

In 2015, fresh out of university, we formally established Kerinthing Design Unit. Guided by the knowledge and discipline cultivated during our academic training and early professional experiences, we began building a portfolio of thoughtful, detail-driven projects. Through dedication, resilience, and a commitment to quality, we steadily progressed from modest commissions to larger, more complex developments.

Today, Kerinthing Design Unit stands as a growing architectural practice recognized for its explorative approach and fresh design perspectives. As we continue to evolve, our ambition remains clear, to shape meaningful spaces and grow into a respected, established presence within the architectural industry.
